Extended Biography

More About Me

Artistic Path

    • Trained in classical ballet, completing the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, and performed for a few years with independent ballet companies in Mexico.

    • Developed an autodidactic path in contemporary dance, improvisation, and composition, receiving training from influential teachers in Mexico and abroad.

    • Attended the Impulstanz Festival in Vienna for three consecutive years (twice as a danceWEB scholarship recipient) and trained extensively at Movement Research in New York. These spaces were both creative incubators and powerful catalysts for my artistic development.

    • The exposure to diverse artistic perspectives led me to create a program to invite international teachers to Mexico — deepening my training and allowing others to benefit from those who had deeply influenced my own work. (PIAA, that invites teachers like Johanne Madore, Andrew Harwood, David Zambrano, Thomas Stayaert)

    • In 2010, as part of Mexico’s Bicentennial Celebration, I traveled across the country to meet Abuelos de Tradición — traditional elders and guardians of indigenous dance from 13 regions. This experience profoundly changed my relationship with dance, revealing its ritual, spiritual, ancestral, and communal dimensions. It marked a turning point in my journey toward deeper explorations of embodiment and healing.
